NATHAN ROBERT SHRUBSOLE, OCT, is a Technological Studies teacher.

A graduate of Centennial College’s Book & Magazine Publishing and OISE UofT’s Technological Education programs, Mr. Shrubsole has taught Communications Technology covering broad-based units spanning graphic design, video production, audio production, animation, web design and digital photography, and Technological Design for architecture, interior design, landscape design, 3D modeling and engineering.

With a philosophical emphasis on developing transferable problem solving skills for students to apply in all facets of their lives, Mr. Shrubsole strives to shift learning to students to embrace self-regulation, to monitor their learning and self assess throughout the design process to form skills attributable to becoming, “lifelong learners,” where teachers are neither needed nor the primary source of knowledge.

In addition, Mr. Shrubsole empowers students to become leaders within their classrooms and school community by providing opportunities for positions of responsibility whenever possible.
